SB's Take

  • Supercharged 3.0-litre V6 paired to a 8-speed automatic transmission
  • Just three owners from new
  • Excellent recent maintenance, including supercharger belts, transmission and differential fluids, spark plugs and front brakes
The original F-Type has aged exceptionally well. More than a decade after its introduction, Ian Callum's design remains one of Jaguar's most convincing modern shapes, while the supercharged V6 arguably occupies a particularly appealing point in the range: plenty of performance and theatre, without the running costs or outright aggression of the V8 cars. SB is thrilled to be listing this handsome 2016 example, presented in understated Corris Grey Metallic over a black leather interior. Beneath the bonnet sits Jaguar's 3.0-litre supercharged V6, driving the rear wheels through the eight-speed Quickshift automatic transmission. The trademark centrally mounted twin exhausts provide the soundtrack, which we think is glorious. The car has covered approximately 71,000 miles and has had just three owners from new. Importantly for a car now approaching its tenth birthday, servicing has continued recently: its ninth-year service was undertaken within the Jaguar Land Rover network, followed by its tenth-year service with an independent Jaguar specialist. Earlier history is partially documented, with Jaguar's Online Service History providing the facility to verify servicing recorded electronically against the VIN. Inside, the F-Type retains the driver-focused two-seat cabin that made these cars feel special from the outset, with electrically adjustable memory seats, a panoramic glass roof and Jaguar's rising centre air vents among the highlights. A particularly attractive opportunity to acquire the original F-Type in supercharged V6 form, combining genuine sports-car performance with one of the most distinctive designs of its era. The seller is available to answer all questions via the Comments section below. Buyers should bid with confidence.

Condition

  • As with all items listed on Shooting Brake, buyers are encouraged to examine closely all photos contained within the photo gallery
  • The car presents very well for its age and mileage, as illustrated in the extensive accompanying photography
  • The Corris Grey Metallic bodywork retains a strong overall finish, with the F-Type's aluminium bodywork appearing straight and the panel gaps consistent
  • As should be expected of a car approaching ten years old and having covered approximately 71,000 miles, there are some age and mileage-related imperfections (see photo gallery)
  • The alloy wheels present well overall, while the black leather cabin also appears to have been well cared for, with the seats, dashboard, door cards and switchgear presenting smartly
  • The tyres are mixed and, despite showing plenty of tread on all four corners, could benefit from being replaced at the next owner's discretion
  • The engine bay appears clean and largely original, while underside photography is also included within the gallery for prospective buyers to assess

Service History

  • This F-Type passed its most recent MOT in March of this year at the second time of asking with a minor defect showing a nearside rear registration plate lamp inoperative and advisories for low coolant level, worn front brake disc, front tyre showing a not-deep cut, and corrosion to the rear sub-frame
  • The car benefits from a documented Jaguar Online Service History, supplemented by its most recent service carried out by independent Jaguar specialists Hollygrove
  • Recorded history includes:
  • 08/07/2026 – 69,119 miles – Hollygrove Independent Jaguar Specialists: Major service including engine oil/filter, pollen filter, transmission fluid, spark plugs, rear differential fluid and front brakes
  • 04/04/2025 – 60,401 miles – Hendy Jaguar, Southampton: Service including engine oil/filter, supercharger drive belt and ancillary drive belt, together with an Electronic Vehicle Health Check
  • 06/07/2023 – 49,793 miles – Sytner Land Rover, South West London: Service including engine oil/filter, pollen filter and engine air filter, together with an Electronic Vehicle Health Check

  • 22/09/2017 – 11,267 miles – Guy Salmon Jaguar, Ascot: 16,000-mile / 12-month service; engine oil and filter renewed
  • 08/03/2016 – 11 miles – H A Fox Jaguar, Nottingham: Pre-delivery inspection

Summary

The F-Type represented a hugely important return to form for Jaguar: a genuine two-seat sports car combining dramatic styling, a sophisticated aluminium chassis and the characterful supercharged engines for which the model became known. Finished in Corris Grey Metallic with a black leather interior, panoramic glass roof and the 3.0-litre supercharged V6 driving through Jaguar's excellent eight-speed automatic gearbox, it's an appealing specification of what is increasingly looking like a modern Jaguar classic. Buyers should bid with confidence.

Finally, all cars on Shooting Brake are run through a 3rd party online vehicle checker, mycarcheck (note, this does not include a mileage history check). This particular vehicle throws up no insurance claims for damage or theft and has no outstanding finance owing. Nonetheless, we strongly encourage all bidders to undertake their own due diligence prior to placing any bid. It is entirely reasonable for any classic or enthusiast vehicle to have undergone cosmetic repairs that could otherwise go undetected from the provided photos or by any in-person inspection. Unless the seller explicitly states otherwise, assume that any vehicle or item listed may have undergone bodywork or paintwork at some point. Additionally, photographs may not accurately represent the vehicle’s true overall condition. It is the bidder’s responsibility to verify the condition, and any past repairs—including bodywork or paintwork—before placing a bid or making a purchase. If you have any questions or queries, please use the Comments section to firstly ask the Seller directly before placing any bids. Shooting Brake tries to portray the item listed as accurately as possible through detailed questions asked to the seller but would like to remind users that all vehicles are sold as seen and, as per all goods purchased at auction, there is a No Return policy. Please see our Terms and Conditions for more details.

Hi Tarquin,

The car has never been written off and outside of the pictures posted the only thing missing which I do have is the 9year major service. I don’t have any more information other then that but it’s been well looked after since I’ve owned it and it’s daily driven.
