Finished in Guards Red over a focused, lightweight interior trimmed with Recaro bucket seats this presents as an uncompromising evocation inspired by the legendary 964 Carrera RS 3.8. Built from a desirable C16 UK supplied, right hand drive, non sunroof Carrera 2 manual, this example has been extensively reworked with a strong emphasis on driver engagement, fast road usability and analogue character - exactly what we love here at SB. At the heart of the build sits a naturally aspirated 3.8 litre flat six producing approximately 340bhp, paired with a sought after G50/21 six speed manual gearbox from the later 993-generation 911. The engine specification is substantial, featuring AT Power shaftless individual throttle bodies, Schrick camshafts, JE Racing pistons and rings, ARP head studs, mildly flowed inlet ports, a bespoke engine harness, twin coil wasted spark ignition setup and standalone DTA S80 engine management. The ITBs were recently rebuilt and the car has since been remapped by renowned Porsche specialist Wayne Schofield. The seller notes that while greater power figures were achievable, the final calibration was intentionally aimed at maintaining strong drivability and responsiveness on the road. Combined with an approximate kerb weight of just 1,220kg with fuel (around 130kg lighter than a standard 964 Carrera 2), the result is said to be a genuinely rapid and highly usable 964 with immense low down torque and an induction soundtrack that needs to be experienced to be fully appreciated. The braking system has also been upgraded with a Hella 5.0 electric brake assist pump, replacing the traditional vacuum-assisted setup often compromised by individual throttle body conversions. According to the seller, the car underwent a glass out repaint in 2017 and has covered approximately 7,000 miles since, with fewer than 5,000 miles completed since the engine build in 2018. The seller also reports a trouble free 2,800 mile road trip through the Pyrenees, completed two-up with luggage. Accompanying the sale are invoices relating to recent work and maintenance, along with the current V5C. By separate negotiation, the seller advises that various OEM components may also be available, including the original decklid, Cup 1 wheels, intake system and additional trim pieces.
